The elderly are one of the most vulnerable groups associated with coronavirus disease. The psychological and physical symptoms of corona disease are more severe in the elderly. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of treatment based on acceptance and commitment on corona anxiety in the elderly in Ilam. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design and control group. The statistical population included all the elderly in Ilam in 1400, from which 30 people were selected as the research sample by available sampling method. The experimental group received 10 sessions of 90 minutes and the control group was placed on a waiting list for training. The instrument used in the study was Corona Alipour et al. For data analysis, univariate analysis of covariance and SPSS software version 24 were used. The results showed that the experimental group was significantly different from the control group in terms of both psychological and physical components of corona anxiety. In other words, acceptance and commitment-based therapy reduced the psychological and physical components of corona anxiety in the elderly (p <0.05). According to the results of the present study, therapists and health professionals can use acceptance and commitment-based therapies to reduce corona anxiety in the elderly.
