Effectiveness of Emotion regulation Training in Nurses’ Optimism, Resilience and Quality of life

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of emotion regulation training in nurses' optimism, resilience and quality of life. This study was conducted with a semiexperimental design with pre-test and post-test. The study population included all nurses working in public hospitals in Urmia in 2021, which was approximately 400 people. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 40 subjects (20 subjects in the experimental group and 20 subjects in the control group) were selected by screening method. They were assessed by World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale, Shearer and Carver Life Orientation Questionnaire (1985), as well as Connor and Davidson (2003) Resilience Questionnaire. Data were analyzed by multivariate and Univariate analysis of covariance. Results showed that emotion regulation strategies was effective in the improvement of quality of life, resilience and optimism in nurses. Hence, the instruction of emotion regulation strategies has an important role in improving the positive aspects of nurses' lives.
